Gus Town Labs, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Buffering mobile and web application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.
Information We Collect
When you use the App, we collect the following types of information:
- Account information: Username and nickname you provide when creating an account. Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text.
- Game data: Your pool memberships, weekly picks, pick history, and game status (e.g., alive or eliminated).
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and debugging purposes.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect personal information such as your real name, email address, phone number, or physical address unless you voluntarily provide it (for example, by contacting our support team). We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, or any data from other apps on your device.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the App and its features
- Authenticate your account and secure your sessions
- Enable you to create and join pools, submit picks, and view game results
- Improve the App experience and fix bugs
- Communicate with you if you reach out for support
Data Sharing
Your username, nickname, game status, and pick history are visible to other members of pools you join. Current weekly picks are hidden from other players until picks are locked for the week.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Third-Party Services
The App uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting, data storage, and authentication. Your data is stored securely in AWS infrastructure located in the United States. AWS operates under its own privacy policy and security practices.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted passwords, token-based session authentication with automatic expiration, and secure HTTPS connections for all data transmitted between your device and our servers.
Data Retention
We retain your account and game data for as long as your account is active. Session tokens expire automatically after 90 days. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
